Windows 7 - Remove Think Point
I had somehow brought this apparent virus program Think Point, which then said I had malware on the PC. Then the PC reboots and Think Point opened before the Windows desktop and made a pseudo-system scan. If one was to open the Firefox, Opera, or the Task Manager will be blocked from Think Point because it claims that these programs are infested with viruses and it would certainly be open to these programs. Once the program is a sham, and normal program Blocked programs we want to get rid of it have. Question is as follows:
1) You go to the Windows Start menu, click Run
2) There you are then
cmd
get in to a console.
3) Then you have to stop the process Hotfix.exe:
taskkill / IM Hotfix.exe
This one may perhaps enter a few times until the process is actually finished that one can to check with
4) Now you have to delete the application or task list itself, which is located in Windows 7 under:
C: \\ Users \\ "username" \\ AppData \\ Roaming \\
located in this folder also *. bat - files with random numbers as file name, delete them too!
5) Finally, still has the registry be deleted:
- In "Run" regedit enter
- In the registry folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER \\ Software \\ Microsoft \\ Windows NT \\ CurrentVersion \\ Winlogon Open
- Clear Now the value Shell
Now all traces of Think Point away from their PC.
